Salt (15)

Starring Angelina Jolie and Directed by Phillip Noyce
I bought the extended edition of this film for £5 at Sainsburys supermarket. Well I was told that this film was a big disappointment by a friend (who hadn't seen it) and was not expecting such an amazing action packed movie when I watched it. Jolie is fantastic in this movie, a real female action hero and she does it so well. Fantastic fight scenes and action throughout this movie and a great twist to the story. Another must for any action fans, in my opinion this film doesn't disappoint on any level, it's like Lara Croft on steroids and it works. For £5 you get a lot of movie for your bucks, go out and buy it. The DVD has some good Special Features, including "The ultimate female action hero", "Spy Disguise: The looks of Evelyn Salt (Jolie) and Radio interview and Audio Commentary with director Phillip Noyce.
Daily Star rates this movie 10/10 and I'm not far behind at 9/10 for this

From Paris With Love (15)

Starring John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, directed by Pierre Morel.
Awesome action packed movie, a must for any action movie fanatic. John Travolta's performance in this movie is brilliant, as is Jonothan Rhys Meyers. There is a nice little twist about half way through that packs a punch and leaves you with a dropped jaw expression. Really pleased that I bought this movie, it only cost me £7 and I am sure that it will be a movie that I will watch again and get just as much enjoyment from it as I did the first time that I watched it. The Daily Star rated this movie 8/10 and I'm going to have to agree with that rating 8/10 from me too.

Due Date (15)

Starring Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis, directed by Todd Phillips.
I bought this film from Sainsburys supermarket for £5. I have watched this movie a couple of times now on DVD and I have to say that I was quite disappointed with this one. Maybe I had set my hopes set a little high after seeing "The Hangover" as both films are directed by Todd Phillips and also both star Zach Galifianakis. The film has its hilarity at times but for me these times are just too far apart, it is like a modern version of "Planes, Trains and Automobiles", which was in my opinion a funny film but this newer version falls slightly short of the mark. It is definitely worth watching and worth every penny of the £5 that I paid but I would give this film 6/10.
The gag reel in the extras is funnier than the film

Getting Started

I watch a lot of films, mainly on DVD, so I thought that I would share the films that I watch with you and give an honest review of the film and also give the film a rating out of ten, ten being the highest and zero being the lowest. I will also include some films that appear on TV that are also available on DVD. I often buy DVDs that I see on the shelf in my local supermarket, some I have already seen and some that I take pot luck with, I also buy DVDs from Amazon. I don't go to the cinema that often, I usually wait until the film comes out on DVD to watch it, at the end of the day by doing this I can own a copy of the film cheaper than the price of a cinema ticket. Okay, I hope you enjoy my reviews and if there are any movies that you think I should watch feel free to leave a comment.
Thanks,

Matt
